Valentine’s Day in Loveland

In the nation’s Sweetheart City, Valentine’s Day is more than a day – it is a celebration of Everything You Love. Here, romantic heart-shaped love notes dot the streets. Art and sculpture take new forms and local craft brews are transformed into love potion. Read about all the happenings below and check back often for updates.

Loveland Fire and Ice Festival

Fire and ice collide at the nation’s largest Valentine’s Day Festival in Loveland – the Loveland Fire and Ice Festival. From Feb. 9 – 11, attendees can celebrate the passion of the season where fire, ice, entertainment and fun collide. This free family-friendly event transforms downtown Loveland with Valentine-themed lights, stunning ice sculptures, live entertainment, spectacular firework shows all three nights, kids zone, and more. In addition, an app will allow attendees to be involved in the ice sculpting voting as well as to get complete festival information. Fire and Ice will be open to the public at the following times with fireworks starting an hour before closing time: Friday, Feb. 9: 5 PM to 10 PM, Saturday, Feb. 10: 10 AM to 10 PM, and Sunday, Feb. 11: 10 AM to 8 PM.
Skip the lines for Brewing & Distilling at Fire and Ice by purchasing your tokens in advance. New this year, attendees over 21 years of age can purchase full pours of their favorite beverages in addition to tastings. Advance purchases are available online.  

Official Valentine’s Beer

Exclusively available in Loveland for Valentine’s Day, the Bleeding Heart from Grimm Brothers Brewhouse is a one-of-a-kind love potion. Each year Grimm Brothers brews and taps a new Valentine’s Day beer the first day of February, making Loveland a great Valentine’s Day excursion for any beer lover. This year’s brew is a Chocolate Cherry Brown Lager, back by popular demand. Get it while it lasts on tap in participating Loveland restaurants and bars, and in cans at participating Loveland liquor stores. Experience the romance and excitement of the holiday as you sip on a local crafted brew made with love. 

Official Valentine’s Coffee

This Valentine’s Day, Loveland is bringing together the magic of the season with our special seasonal coffee blends. The LoCo Artisan Coffee House, a local Loveland coffee company, produces our unique roast of Valentine’s Day coffee, also sold exclusively in Loveland. The flavor for this season is the creme de minthe. 

Hearts Around Town

Love, and love notes, are in the air: There is a special feeling in the air during valentine’s season in Loveland – one that visitors must experience for themselves. From the giant red hearts with love notes hanging on lampposts, to the red and white twinkling lights lining downtown, Loveland transforms for this romantic holiday. Drive throughout town to read special love notes, or, order your own and search the city with your sweetheart to make the day extra special.


Valentine Re-Mailing Program

Experience the nation’s largest valentine program: For the past 70 years, Loveland has been the nation’s home for Valentine’s Day. Visit in early February and experience the internationally recognized valentine program for yourself. Bring your valentines to receive a special message from the Sweetheart City by one of our ‘angels on earth’ who lovingly hand-stamp valentines from all over the world each year. Deadlines for mailing valentines are available through the Loveland Chamber of Commerce.

Loveland’s 2nd Annual Valentine’s Day Group Wedding


Loveland’s 2nd annual Valentine’s Day Group Wedding will be a memorable experience for all. Held in the beautiful Foote Lagoon Amphitheater, it will be lit by candlelight and is an opportunity for romantics to renew vows or get hitched right in the Sweetheart City. All couples participating in our group wedding will have their certificate signed by the officiant.  You will receive special signature Valentine’s Wedding cupcakes and a gift bag for participating.  A photographer will be available at the lagoon to take photos of each couple. You’ll receive a keepsake photo immediately.  Every couple will also be registered to win a large gift package from participating partners!

Loveland Sweetheart Classic

On February 10th get out for a run by yourself, with a friend or as a couple. This year’s race is set to kick off at 8:30 am in downtown Loveland as part of Fire and Ice. Fore more information, visit their website.

9th Annual 65 Roses for Cystic Fibrosis

Artists locally & across the United States donate miniature paintings of roses and other art with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Artwork donated makes an excellent Valentine’s gift. Event is hosted by Independence Gallery through the month of February beginning February 1.
