#TourismMatters – Celebrating National Travel & Tourism Week
On May 6, Visit Loveland, the official, award-winning tourism arm and destination marketing organization for the City of Loveland, brought together community leaders and partners to celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week after unveiling that 2018 was a record year for tourism in the city.
“Our job as the destination marketing organization is to encourage visitors to shop, eat, stay, play in Loveland through our messaging, marketing, creation and support of community and destination events, “ said Cindy Mackin, visitor services manager for the City of Loveland and a certified destination marketing executive. “Over the last seven years, Visit Loveland has been working diligently to promote the unique assets of Loveland to increase visitation.”
Visit Loveland has been around since 2012 and has an eight-person staff, 25 volunteers and seven-person Community Marketing Commission to support its mission. The organization also works with partners across the City including Loveland’s Downtown Development Association, Budweiser Events Center, area breweries and restaurants, hotels, artists, Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch, shopping districts and more to support fun and engaging visitor experiences. Many partners, City departments and several city councilors joined the celebration.
“Working with our partners – both local and statewide – ensures we are telling our local story to visitors and working together to create memorable experiences,” said Mackin, “We have been working with our local partners for years to support tourism efforts. We saw an opportunity to introduce a coordinated effort to celebrate what we can achieve together and to demonstrate how tourism works for Loveland,” said Mackin.
