Live Like a Local in Loveland – Sara Turner Spotlight

Sara Turner, former owner of Studio Vino, handles the social media for Live Loveland, volunteers for the visual arts commission, Artworks Loveland and Loveland Downtown Partnership. Her husband grew up here and they moved to Loveland to raise their family.

“I love the tight knit community here in Loveland. People are from all different walks of life, but I have seen amazing collaboration among individuals, businesses, and organizations in the town.”

Check out Sara’s tips for a perfect 24 hours in Loveland.

Where are your favorite places to eat and what do you order?

My favorite place for breakfast in Loveland is Taste Local. I love their eclectic vibe and organic/sustainable food. I always order the bacon, egg, pesto pocket with fresh tomato. My favorite lunch spot is Origins Wine Bar & Wood Fired Pizza. They have great lunch combinations and I usually get a half sandwich and salad. However, all of their pizzas are also excellent! It’s always a treat to have dinner at Door 222. It has a wonderful atmosphere and the food is always great. Sometimes I share an assortment of tapas with friends, but my favorite entree is the Angus beef short ribs with garlic mashed potatoes.

When it is time for some liquid art or liquid therapy, where do you go?

When we are downtown, we almost always grab a drink at Loveland Tap & Tavern before dinner. If we are with the kids, we like to hang out at Backyard Tap.

Where do you love to shop?

My favorite store in town is PILAR Boutique. I find wonderful clothing that I never see anywhere else.

When it is time to have fun, where do you go?

My kids love playing at Mehaffey Park. It is close to our neighborhood, so we take many family bike rides over there.

Where is your favorite place to spend outdoors?

My family enjoys mountain biking, so my boys (including my husband) always head out to Devil’s Backbone or Coyote Ridge Natural Area. I promised them that I would tag along this summer!

When you have visitors in town, where do you take them?

Benson Sculpture Park is a truly unique place in Loveland (and the world for that matter). The setting is beautiful, and the collection of world-renowned sculpture is unparalleled.

If you are willing to share, what do you think are Loveland’s hidden gems or hot spots?

Going downtown is always a fun experience and has something different to offer each time. We usually visit art galleries, breweries, and restaurants. Often we stop to play at The Flipside before the night is over! We have attended many movies, concerts, and festivals as well.
