Live Like a Local in Loveland – Dixie Daly Spotlight
Dixie has lived in Loveland for 39 years. She married her high school sweetheart and has four children, all who live in Loveland. Her husband came to Loveland as a child and fell in love with the city. He came home one day back to where they were living in Chicago at the time and told Dixie they were moving to Colorado and she would love it too. He was right. They raised their family here, play & coached sports while the kids were growing up and enjoyed boating on Lake Loveland over the years.
“Loveland is always offering events and activities. Being the Loveland Chamber Business/Membership Director allows many opportunities to explore and be in Love with Loveland. I have been blessed to be able to attend numerous events, taking photos and capturing moments at them. My favorite part is that I get to share photos with the people I am closest with, and strangers as well. How fun and special to give something to someone that captures a moment they can always remember. Especially the moments about Loveland.”

Where are your favorite places to eat and what do you order?
One of my favorite places for breakfast is Perkins on west Eisenhower. I smile when I go there because I have always loved corn pancakes, it’s a childhood thing and when I ask them if they can add corn to my pancakes, they always say yes. Perkins allows me to hold onto a small piece of my childhood, and the corn pancakes taste wonderful. Thank you, Perkins,!
My favorite spots for lunch are Kobe Sushi, I love every time I go there because I have been able to connect with the family. The owners always treat us like extended family and let me sit at my favorite table with my friends and family. Kobe not only had an amazing atmosphere, but they also have a phenomenal menu, and they even welcome you in with a open arms and a smile.
Of course for dinner it’s The Loveland Chop House. For years I have enjoyed their Crab Cakes, Salad Wedges and a flight of wine. The variety of food is wonderful, and they have the best atmosphere within their walls. The Chop House is great place to celebrate birthdays or to just share a fun evening with friends. My Daughters Tiffany & Shannon know when I like to be spoiled, the Loveland Chop House it is!
When it is time for some liquid art or liquid therapy, where do you go?
One of my favorite places to go to is Sweet Heart Winery, whether it be for an event or to have a glass of wine with my friends or my daughters, the Winery never fails. They have the best Wine choices, cheese trays and customer service. Were lucky to have such a nice place in Loveland and to enjoy the outdoors.
Where do you love to shop?
Garment Gal in Downtown Loveland is one of my favorite places to shop, they always have the newest styles of clothing and great prices too. The lovely owner, Robbie always shares her smiles and a beverage to welcome you in. Garment Gal makes shopping even more fun. And Girlfriend time!
When it is time to have fun, where do you go?
My favorite place to play would be Truscott Elementary, the City of Loveland’s volleyball headquarters. When we moved to Loveland, the courts were the first place we would meet new friends, being new in the community we played on a coed volleyball team. With our children cheering us on, it was easy to find joy in those moments. Even now I still go to Truscott in the adult league every Monday to play volleyball. I play on a team with my daughter Tiffany in a woman’s league. I will always cherish my Monday nights with my team, my family.
Where is your favorite place to spend outdoors?
My ultimate favorite place outdoors is The North Lake Park, you’ll get to take a train ride, visit the craft show an art show in August, enjoy fishing with your kids, the beach and park! There is so much to do and experience at this amazing park.
When you have visitors in town, where do you take them?
My favorite place to bring my family and friends to is the Corn Roast Festival. With Live bands, fresh roasted corn on the cob, booths to visit, pancake breakfasts, the largest parade in Loveland creates tons of fun with your family & Friends!
If you are willing to share, what do you think are Loveland’s hidden gems or hot spots?
I would tell every tourist about the 5-foot fiber glass HeARTS scattered around Loveland. There’s a HeART map at the Visitor Center that guides you through Loveland, you’ll see so many different Artist and locations throughout the city of Loveland. An adventure you must do to learn more about Loveland and explore restaurant, shopping, art and our Love Lock Sculptures, There’s one at Lake Loveland and the other is at the Loveland Chamber/Visitor Center!
