Loveland Light Trail
For the second year, a holiday light trail will connect Winter Wonderlights at I-25 and Centerra down to Loveland’s thriving downtown district and across the city. Visitors can attend Winter Wonderlights, then head downtown for more culture, shopping and dining for the holidays and end up on the west side of the city at Christmas Walk in the Woods. The new Lagoon Lights at Foote Lagoon have been added this year, bringing nine different lighting events and installations. Hit the trail and celebrate the holidays in Loveland’s glow.
Ready to shop ‘til you drop and get amazing holiday deals? At the heart of northern Colorado, Loveland has shopping for everyone. Looking for guilt-free shopping? Try the Outlets at Loveland. Great Black Friday deals and holiday specials are also available at the Promenade Shops at Centerra, Marketplace at Centerra and downtown boutiques. Celebrate Small Business Saturday and Shop Local Saturday, Nov. 30 and support Loveland’s locally-owned businesses – in Loveland thriving downtown district and across the city. Don’t miss the Downtown Winter Market Nov. 30, a pop-up market featuring holiday shopping from local makers, artists, handmade and vintage vendors and more. check out the Christmas Shops, at the Promenade Shops, a collective of local boutiques together in one space to make it easier to grab goodies for holiday gifts.
Thanksgiving weekend is a great time to get out and celebrate with family, friends and loved ones. Head to Chapungu Sculpture Park Nov. 29-30 for Winter Wonderlights LIVE!, a free, fun evening with performances, activities, giveaways and more. Don’t miss Santa and reindeer from 5-7 p.m. The Colorado Eagles Hockey team takes the ice Nov. 29-30 at the Budweiser Events Center and the Rocky Mountain Train Show rolls into the Ranch Nov. 30-Dec. 1. Or catch a beautiful rendition of the Nutcracker at the historic Rialto Theater downtown, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
There is a reason so many visitors love Colorado’s 300+ days of sunshine each year. Winter is a beautiful time to head outdoors. Take a walk around Lake Loveland, Benson Sculpture Garden or Chapungu Sculpture Park. Head to Devil’s Backbone* for a family hike to find the keyhole. After shopping and eating downtown, head to River’s Edge Natural Area for a stroll and capture pretty views.
Games and Entertainment
There is no shortage of fun in Loveland. Bring the family to Loveland Laser Tag Fun Center for laser tag, a climbing wall, ropes course, arcade and more. Head to the ice rink at the Promenade Shops and take a whirl. Horsedrawn carriage rides at the Promenade Shops open Dec. 1. If you are downtown, head to the Flipside pinball arcade for some competitive fun or hit the new dine-in Metrolux movie theater to check out new movies on the big screen. Don’t miss the opening of Studio Vino’s second location back in downtown Loveland with events Nov. 29-30.
No trip to Loveland would be complete without a stop at the LOVE love lock sculpture at the Loveland Visitors Center. Ours is the largest love lock sculpture of its kind in the U.S. Friends, families and loved ones can lock their love for one another here. Stop at the Visitors Center and buy a lock, engrave it and lock it on the sculpture. Step outside and lock your love on the grid. Whether you keep the key as a souvenir or throw it away to lock your love for an eternity is up to you. Locks are only $20 with the key, are available in a rainbow of colors, and include free use of permanent markers or an engraving pen.
