Chocolate lovers in northern Colorado and southern Wyoming have a lot to celebrate this month! The region finally has a major chocolate festival! The Rocky MountainChocolate Festival, hosted by Dana Cain Events, debuts Saturday, September 23 at the popular Ranch Events Complex (Larimer County Fairgrounds) just east of I-25 (exit 259) in Loveland.
The festival promises dozens of booths sampling and selling chocolates, sweets and other treats, along with a limited number of gift booths. A full line-up on on stage entertainment rounds out the day – along with bounce houses and free face painting for the kids.
Saturday morning doors open at 11:00 am, and the fun goes until 6:00 pm.
- 11:00 AM – Doors open!
- 1:00 PM – Chocolate Pudding Eating Contest! The hitch – no hands! Win Golden Tickets worth $10 at any booth!
- 2:00 PM – Chocolate Covered Whaaatt? You own’t believe all the weird foods we can dip in chocolate! (requires Taste Tickets to sample)
- 3:00 PM – Name That Chocolate! Identify the chocolate brands and win Golden Tickets! The hitch – you’re blindfolded!
- 4:00 PM – Chocolate & Beer Pairing! Requires Taste Tickets to sample.
- 6:00 PM – Doors Close
Dana Cain Events has been running popular and successful chocolate festivals around the state for more than 10 years. “We are so excited to launch a festival in northern Colorado,” says Cain. “And the response has been amazing! It feels like this area is just as excited as we are!”
Admission to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Festival is $5. Kids age 4 and under are FREE. Parking is FREE. Taste Tickets for sampling and for the pairing demo may be purchased online in advance or at the door. Taste Tickets are $10/dozen. Hours: 11am – 6pm.
