Loveland’s history in artistic expression cannot be considered without the medium of metal. Whether casted in bronze, blacksmithed in iron or carefully created in gold or silver, the work of many Loveland artists takes form from hot metal.

As the Loveland Museum celebrates this dynamic part of our local history for Night on the Town, this event will feature a variety of metal and metal-like art.

Art Shape Mammoth’s Creative Director, Amy Hosterman, will demonstrate the fiery Raku process. Amy will create keepsake ceramic pieces that will feature a metallic glaze finish as a tribute to Loveland’s bronze industry.

At the same time, Curtis Rowland and his staff at Ildanach Studios will demonstrate their small-batch casting technique. The group will cast around 100 coin-sized medallions with the Museum’s logo. This jewelry scale metal pour of molten bronze will coincide with the raku firings, offering to the dynamic takeaways for the event.

The bronze and ceramic medallions will be available to event attendees on a first-come, first serve basis.

Enjoy locally crated beer from Verboten and food, and make some of your own found-object metal art in this fall-welcoming beer garden event.
