Artist: Scott Young – I Miss Who You Were
Black Valentine
Friday, February 8, 6-8 pm
Several anti-Valentine celebrations have made their way into the mainstream as post-romance day slams, with people recognizing anything from Flirt Day to Break Up Day the week after February 14. Not everyone loves the holiday or its romantic notions, especially if your heart has been broken.
While the Museum’s Black Valentine event won’t be all dark, we’d “love” to have you come for some fun! Share and release your own broken-hearted stories in our “Broken Heart Interactives”. In one space, you can write and “release” your lost love on a floating black heart. In another space, you can “smash” your broken heart as you write your sentiments on a tile and then break the tile to release the pain!
If sharing your story isn’t all roses, come enjoy the “Love is a Thug” exhibit by Scott Young, sip on Dark Heart coffee (with alcoholic additions for those over 21) and listen to some Slam Poetry.
Free event.
Alcoholic drinks available for purchase.
